Tambourine made from wood with animal skin membrane. The surface of the instrument is painted with a portrait of a female who is presumably a Romani dancer.
The surface is distressed through age but nevertheless shows a charmingly characterful portrayal of woman with skyscape in the background. One pair of brass cymbols remain in tact with the two other pairs missing.
