Czech Roma are few. Hitler’s killing machine assured this. (Today, more than 90% of the Roma in the Czech Republic are of Slovak origin, as result of former regime policy.) Among those Moravian decendents remaining are this utterly remarkable couple. They are central to the romarising concept, and have advanced the project with great energy, throughout. PhDR Jana Horváthová, historian, is Direktor of the Muzeum romské kultury, Brno, and steadfast colleague in the romarising initiative. MuDR Vladimír Horváth is a cardiothoracic surgeon.
