dan_00363 1 The Marin Chiclana dolls were originally designed
by Don Jose Marin in the 1920’s. The plastic
collectible dolls as seen here were at their
height during the 60’s and 70’s. Earlier dolls were
made from ceramic. The dolls have smiling faces
with sideways glances. Each has detailed
accessories that can include jewellery, guitars,
castnets, traditional hair combs (peinetas) and
lace mantillas.
The fugure is 30cm tall and wears a yellow dress
with black, white and gold lace trim and a black
lace mantilla. (Daniel Baker)
