The work was painted for Zalikierdo Drom / Interrupted Road (2014) exhibition on the mass extermination of the Roma people during the Second World War. Portret was based on photographs of Elisabeth Emmler with her children. They were murder in the Aushwitz-Birkenau ͞gypsy camp͟ the Second World War. The exhibition Zalikierdo Drom / Interrupted Road is an artistic contribution to restore the memory of the Porajmos on the 70th anniversary of the Roma Genocide.
