In 1980s I defended my MA at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow and joined the staff of the department of Slavic Ethnography. As part of my work at the university, I taught different courses and organized ethnographic fieldtrips to Romani communities – including my own Roma settlement in Czarna Góra and other where I had family members or closer acquaintances: Szaflary, Czarny Dunajec, Ochotnica; all of them in the Polish mountains where Bergitka Roma live. During these trips, in the second-half of 1980s, I took pictures.
