Daniela Gress is a historian and works as a research assistant at the Research Center on Antigypsyism at the History Department of the Heidelberg University.
She studied Modern and Contemporary History as well as Cultural Studies at the universities of Karlsruhe and Heidelberg. From 2013 to 2017, she participated as a PhD student in the establishment of the research project Minority History and Civil Rights in Europe at the Chair of Contemporary History at the University of Heidelberg.
In her PhD project, she investigates the civil and human rights activism of Sinti and Roma in the Federal Republic of Germany.
In 2013, she received the Integration Research Award from the Ministry for Integration Baden-Württemberg for her master thesis.
