Karima Renes. M.A. completed her studies of Romance languages and literature at the University of Cologne and of Musicology at Düsseldorf’s Robert Schumann Hochschule. Her main research interests include Romani literature, memory studies, and Trans-Area studies with a focus on the potential of cultural memory studies in analyzing literary narratives. Karima Renes is currently holding a Schmittmann-Wahlen-Scholarship at the University of Cologne and writes her PhD-Thesis about traces of orality, transcultural and trans-areal aspects of Matéo Maximoff’s writing.
