Zoran Tairović was born on 16 August 1966 in Novi Sad, Serbia. He is a multimedia artist who graduated first from the Academy of Fine Arts, University of Novi Sad (ACIMSI) in graphics and painting, and then gained his Master’s in Interdisciplinary Studies, Applied Arts Management at ACIMSI, and his PhD in Interdisciplinary Studies, Applied Arts Management, also from ACIMSI. Under the name of the Intercultural Theatre he directed the monodrama Sandokan Nikolić – The Bare Truth and the musical play Art of the Nomads. In 2008 he registered his Intercultural Theatre, through which he authored and directed the musical play The Invisible Gipsy and the musical Gipsy Prayer for the South.
Zoran’s achievements are wide-ranging and tireless, including published literary works, music compositions, art exhibitions, works in public spaces, lectures, curatorial work, videos and films. Professionally, Zoran has has excelled in several spheres, with positions as founder of the Albert Hall Museum for Conceptual Art in Bódvalenke, Hungary, as Member of the Presidency and President of the Committee for Culture of the League of Roma, as Adviser to the Vice President of the Republic of Serbia for Roma issues, and as a member of the City Team for Development of the Project ‘Novi Sad – European City of Culture 2021’. In 2017, he added three more experiences: as Adviser for Roma Rights in the UN Office for Human Rights, as a member of the Committee for Research of Ethnicity, at the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts, and as a founder of State of Art – an intercultural artistic colony and open, creative space established to cultivate the artistic spirit.
